The market’s relatively quiet, and so are some of the announcements it seems.
One of the best young midfielders in the game heads to France and it’s revealed almost as an aside to the announcement of Tom Sermanni’s first group of players called into camp.
Tobin Heath to Paris Saint-Germain came off as an “Oh, by the way, I’ll be around for dinner tonight” kind of moment, casually mentioned in passing. It was buried in U.S. Soccer’s release. But you can’t really fault U.S. Soccer for that one. PSG hasn’t officially announced it. Not sure what they’re waiting for. Heath’s already on her way to France. According to Equalizer Soccer, Heath’s deal with PSG runs six months. She’ll return to join Portland Thorns FC in the National Women’s Soccer League when she comes back to the states. Read more

The rumor last week about Megan Rapinoe heading across the pond to play for European Champions Olympique Lyonnais became reality this week. The U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder landed in France and has already started training with the reigning French league champions. The same can be said for Japanese international Shinobu Ohno, who recently played for Empress Cup champions INAC Kobe. Read more
